The eHealth Business Development Section is responsible for health IM&ICT industry liaison, whole-of-government collaboration, and driving uptake of eHealth by clinicians and consumers.
The Broadband for Health Program is a key component of the Australian Government eHealth investment strategy for Australia. The Broadband for Health Program supports eligible health care organisations to take full advantage of the potential benefits of broadband technologies.
Nicole has been working with regional general practitioners from early 2001 on issues affecting workflow and workforce sustainability, in particular information management and the benefits of information and communications technologies for remote practitioners. In this period Nicole has worked with practitioners to develop tele-dermatology audit tools, peer support models using videoconferencing and telephony services, and community-based health portals. Nicole's qualifications are in historical sociology and sustainable regional development.
Previous professional roles have included information management in human rights, humanitarian assistance, continuous improvement in Indigenous health, and eHealth implementation.
