Dr Ian Reinecke

Dr Ian Reinecke is CEO of the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA), which is jointly owned by the Australian government and all state and territory jurisdictions.
Dr Reinecke has a strong record of achievement in the analysis and solution of large and complex problems requiring the application of information and communications technology (ICT).
He was CIO of the Sydney 2000 Olympics and has consulted widely to industry, universities and governments in the strategic use of ICT. He has conducted major reviews of ICT in the public sector at federal and state level, in universities and in the private sector.
Dr Reinecke is a former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland and Founding Director of the Centre for Information Technology Research at the University of Wollongong. He has chaired or been a member of government boards with responsibility for ICT strategic matters in Queensland, NSW and the Commonwealth. He was also a former chair of DSTC Pty Ltd, the ICT Cooperative Research Centre.
Dr Reinecke has published widely, as the author of five books on the economic and social effects of technology, in academic journals and in magazines and newspapers. |
